In a recent incident on November 29, 2023, a Johnson County Sheriff Deputy responded to a Welfare Check following a concerned caller's report. The caller had observed a distressing Facebook post from a female indicating she was experiencing fentanyl withdrawals and urgently needed assistance for her 12-year-old autistic, non-verbal son.
Upon arriving at the scene, the Deputy encountered the distressed female and called for medical assistance due to her withdrawal symptoms. Simultaneously, efforts were made to establish contact with the child's father, who was successfully reached. The father arrived at the location and took custody of the 12-year-old autistic child.
Subsequently, the female in distress was transported to the hospital for necessary medical attention.
