The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services has successfully located the family of a young girl who was abandoned at Baylor Scott & White Health in Dallas on December 4.
The agency thanks the community for the tips and help provided during the search for the family.
The child, known only as "Alejandra," is currently under the care of Child Protective Services (CPS), with officials exploring options for placing her with family members.
Alejandra was left at the hospital, and initial reports suggested that her mother may have been the one who left her. However, due to the child's inability to provide any identifying information, officials faced challenges in locating her relatives.
In a recent statement, CPS confirmed, "We believe we now know her identity and are in contact with her relatives. Alejandra remains in CPS care for now, and options for placing her with family members are being explored."
The agency has scheduled the first court hearing in her case for December 14.
