The IISD Superintendent’s Office announced January 11 that the Employee Advisory Committee has been renamed as the Superintendent’s Advisory Council (SAC).
According to Ralph Diaz, special assistant to the superintendent, the purpose for renaming the committee is to increase staff membership and revise the format allowing for in-depth interaction with the superintendent regarding topics concerning the district. Additional members will include the current campus teachers of the year.
The gathering and submission of IISD employee questions to the designated campus representative will continue along with the return of a question-and-answer document. Because of the new format, meeting as a committee will be limited to four times a year: twice in the fall and twice in the spring. Principals should note that due to the change in meeting time, substitutes for the affected teachers’ classes will be needed on the scheduled day of the meeting. The first meeting of the SAC will be 1-4 p.m. February 10 at the Administration Building in training rooms one and two. The second spring semester meeting of the SAC will be at 1 p.m. April 7 at the Administration Building.
