Dallas County Jail Successfully Passes State Inspection

The Texas Commission on Jail Standards (TCJS) has successfully completed a weeklong inspection of the Dallas County Jail, confirming its compliance with state standards. As the regulatory agency overseeing all county jails in Texas, TCJS assessed various key areas, including sanitation, health services, food service, clothing and personal hygiene, life safety rules, intake and release procedures, education and rehabilitation programs, recreation and exercise facilities, supervision of inmates, and records and procedures.

The unannounced inspections serve as a means for professional examiners to evaluate the day-to-day operations of the Dallas County Jail and ensure they meet the established state standards. Sheriff Marian Brown expressed her satisfaction with the outcome, stating, "This inspection is the ‘why’ behind the hard work produced by Dallas County Sheriff’s employees. I am elated that we have passed the inspection. Providing exceptional service to the community is our priority. We will continue to do the work with integrity, professionalism, and accountability."

Sheriff Brown extended her appreciation to all the Dallas County Sheriff's Office Deputies and Detention Service Officers for their dedication and outstanding efforts in maintaining the jail's compliance with the established standards.
