Waco Police Department has arrested 18-year-old Jada Millwood in connection with a shooting incident that claimed the life of a 17-year-old female on February 25, 2024. The incident took place at the 3900 Block of S. Jack Kultgen Expressway, prompting officers' response at 1:39 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered one female victim with gunshot wounds. Despite attempts to save her life, the victim succumbed to her injuries after being transported to a local hospital. Millwood, who remained at the scene, cooperated with law enforcement during the initial investigation.
Investigators determined that Millwood was handling a firearm recklessly, resulting in its discharge and the fatal shooting of the victim. Millwood was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the McLennan County Jail.
Authorities have notified the next of kin of the deceased victim. The incident marks the third homicide investigation of the year in Waco and is currently under ongoing investigation.
