Kennedale Police Officer Arrested for Alleged Child Injury

Kennedale Police Officer Garyth Rawls was arrested on March 5, 2024, following a criminal complaint made by a family member, according to the Kennedale Police Department. Rawls has been charged with Injury to a Child with Bodily Injury, with the alleged offense occurring on March 4th within the city of Kennedale.

Upon receiving the complaint, the department promptly initiated both criminal and administrative investigations. Rawls was taken into custody and processed into the Everman City Jail after a warrant for his arrest was signed by a magistrate. His bond has been set at $100,000. Throughout the investigation, the department collaborated with the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office.

Kennedale Police Department emphasizes its commitment to high standards for its officers, both on and off duty. Consequently, they will continue gathering and reviewing facts and circumstances related to the allegations to ensure a thorough investigation. Rawls has been relieved of all police powers since his arrest. He was initially hired in January 2023 and served as a patrol officer.
