On Monday, April 29, 2024, the Prosper Police Department (PPD), incorporating efforts from the Patrol Division, FBI – Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) which includes active members of the North Texas ICAC Task Force, apprehended 48-year-old Miles Todd Perez on charges related to the possession of child pornography.
The arrest was the culmination of a rigorous investigation initiated from a Cyber Tip received by Prosper PD detectives. Perez was booked into the Denton County Jail and is charged with Possession of Child Pornography, comprising between 100-500 visual depictions of minors. This significant operation is part of Prosper PD’s ongoing collaboration with the North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, highlighting its commitment to combatting cyber-enabled crimes.
The Prosper Police Department says that it is "committed to its proactive approach to safeguarding our community, especially the most vulnerable members — our children."
"As this case progresses through the judicial system, we remind the public that all suspects are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. We also encourage others who might have relevant information on this or any other suspected child exploitation activities to come forward and assist in our ongoing efforts.", said the Prosper PD in a statement.
