Irving Police Issues Community Alert: Suspect Arrested for Attempted Rape in Irving

Brandon Lee Williams

The Irving Police Department has issued a community awareness alert following an incident of assault reported on Monday, March 11, 2024. According to the victim, who was walking down Cowboys Parkway near Touchdown Drive in the Valley Ranch area, she was attacked from behind by an unknown assailant.

The victim recounted that the attacker, described as an unidentified black male, forcefully threw her to the ground while attempting to remove his pants and hers. The suspect then fled the scene in a silver PT Cruiser.

Following a tip received on Friday, April 19, 2024, authorities arrested a possible suspect linked to the case. The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Brandon Lee Williams, was apprehended for an unrelated warrant issued by the Denton County Sheriff's Office for evading arrest with a vehicle. He was brought to the Irving Jail on April 25th for questioning.

During interrogation, Williams confessed to the assault and provided details not disclosed to the public. He revealed his intention to engage in sexual intercourse with the victim. Consequently, Williams is facing charges of Sexual Assault (Criminal Attempt).

On April 28th, Williams was transferred to the Dallas County Jail, where he is currently held on a $20,000 bond.
