Irving ISD has been closely monitoring the status of its schools following recent power outages caused by a storm. While power has been restored to most campuses, Good Elementary School and Austin Middle School remain without power. Oncor has been unable to restore electricity to these schools, leading to their closure today, Thursday, May 30, for safety and comfort reasons.
Despite these closures, all other Irving ISD campuses and facilities will remain open. Today is a scheduled early release day, and dismissal times are as follows:
- Full-day PreK, Elementary Schools, and Singley Academy: 12:15 PM (after-school care for tuition-based PreK available until 4:30 PM)
- Middle Schools: 12:45 PM
- Cardwell Career Preparatory Center: 1:00 PM
- Irving, MacArthur, and Nimitz High Schools: 1:15 PM
