Fatal Shooting in South Fort Worth: Juvenile Killed By Victim During Attempted Robbery

On Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 8:43 pm, Fort Worth Police South Division officers were dispatched to the 9200 block of Saint Martin Rd. in Far Southwest Fort Worth (near Crowley border) in response to a shooting call.

Upon arrival, officers located a juvenile male victim on the ground with apparent gunshot wounds to his upper torso. The individual responsible for the shooting was also found at the scene. Initial investigations revealed that the juvenile victim was attempting to rob the suspect, who was identified as the robbery victim, at gunpoint

A struggle ensued between the robbery victim and the juvenile over the handgun, during which the firearm discharged, striking the juvenile at least once in the upper body. The juvenile was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The robbery victim is cooperating with the investigation. No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation is ongoing by our Homicide unit. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office will determine the manner, cause of death, and identify the victim once the next-of-kin has been notified.
