A Tarrant County jury has found David Alferez, 44, of Grapevine guilty of arson and sentenced him to 35 years in prison. The incident occurred on December 17, 2022. On that day Alferez was playing loud music in his trailer and got upset when his neighbor requested him to lower the music. Alferez watched his neighbor's home and after seeing him leave the property, he poured a liquid on the man's porch and set it on fire.
The fire, which was captured on video, did not spread beyond the porch. The case was investigated by the Grapevine Police Department, the Grapevine Fire Department, and the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office.
