Melody Paschall, deputy superintendent in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, has been named associate superintendent of academic services for Irving ISD.
Paschall began her career in 1986 as teacher in Sunnyvale ISD.
In 1996 she taught seventh grade math in Sunnyvale while also completing the administrative intern program. She moved to Allen ISD in 1997 to serve as assistant principal at Story Elementary School, then as principal at Story in 1998. Paschall worked as consultant to Allen ISD, and then to Van ISD from 2000 to 2002. She became principal at Van Junior High in 2002. She then was assigned as director of special programs and completed her superintendent internship in Van ISD during the 2004-2005 school year. In 2005, she moved to Coppell ISD to become principal of Coppell Middle School East. Paschall served as Executive Director of Intervention Services for Coppell ISD from 2006-2009, and then became assistant superintendent for curriculum & instruction in Coppell in 2009. She joined the staff at Grapevine-Colleyville ISD in 2011.
Paschall earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a minor in reading from University of North Texas, and a master’s degree in educational administration and superintendent’s certification from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She is a member of numerous professional organizations including, but not limited to Texas Association of School Administrators, Association of Supervision & Curriculum Development, American Association of School Administrators, Texas Association for the Gifted & Talented, and Texas Council of Women School Executives.
Melody Paschall will assume her new role with Irving ISD on July 5, 2011.
