Never before has a major university partnered with a specific program offered at one of our schools.   The signature program at Nimitz is intended to give students real-world energy and environmental training and simulations that will give them a leg up when applying to college or entering the job market.

Texas Tech University will be working with our students and teachers throughout the year to provide consultation in curriculum, Environmental Science & Engineering instruction, and service learning projects.  Additionally the university will provide textbooks for a Texas Tech section of the library, admissions and recruiting opportunities, and tours of the Texas Tech University campus for selected juniors and seniors.

Irving ISD Signature Programs bring together educators with local businesses, community leaders and higher education to make classroom instruction relevant, interesting and challenging for students.
