Innocent Man Killed in North Richland Hills Drive-By; Wrong Address Leads to Three Arrests

On the evening of November 27, 2024, gunfire erupted in the 7300 block of Stonybrooke in North Richland Hills. According to police, a vehicle stopped in the street, and its occupants fired multiple handgun rounds at a house. One of the bullets penetrated a window and struck 52-year-old Brian Pence as he slept in his bed. Despite life-saving efforts, Pence succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a local medical facility.

In the early hours of November 30, North Richland Hills Police detectives, in coordination with the Fort Worth Police Department, arrested two suspects connected to Pence’s murder. On Sunday, December 1, officers conducted a traffic stop that led to the arrest of a third suspect, who was taken into custody on an arrest warrant for the crime.

Investigators revealed that the suspects, who are not residents of North Richland Hills, had no connection to Mr. Pence. Instead, they entered the city intending to carry out a drive-by shooting stemming from an ongoing feud but mistakenly targeted the wrong address.

Police say the men intended to shoot a house over a "juvenile feud".

North Richland Hills Police have confirmed that all individuals involved in the murder are now in custody. Details regarding the suspects’ official charges, booking photos, and bond information will be released after their court appearances.

The North Richland Hills Police Department credited the Fort Worth Police Department and the Texas Financial Crimes Intelligence Center for their critical assistance in the investigation. Authorities also thanked the community for its patience and support as detectives worked tirelessly to ensure justice for Brian Pence and his family.
