38-year-old Arturo Alarcon was arrested by Grapevine Police on charges of possession of child pornography after an investigation uncovered an image on his cell phone. Alarcon, an associate pastor at 121 Community Church, was also a volunteer with the Grapevine Community Outreach Center and a substitute teacher with Grapevine-Colleyville ISD.
The investigation began after a missionary couple from a local church discovered hidden spy cameras inside their mobile home, which the church uses to house visiting families. The couple promptly reported the discovery to police. While investigating the case, detectives found the downloaded image of child pornography, which was unrelated to the initial incident.
Detectives served a search warrant for invasive visual recording and possession of child pornography. They are currently analyzing several electronics that were in Alarcon’s possession. There is no evidence of additional crimes at this time. Grapevine Police will notify the public immediately if any evidence involving other victims is uncovered.
