Update: The victim was identified as 60-year-old Marie Brooks. The suspect was identified as a 15-year-old juvenile. He was taken to the Henry Wade Juvenile Justice Center and is charged with Murder. The suspect’s name will not be released due to his age.

A woman was found dead early Wednesday morning in the Cedar Crest area, prompting a death investigation by Dallas Police.
At approximately 7:40 a.m. on April 30, 2025, officers responded to a call for service in the 3200 block of S. Lancaster Road. Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive woman at the scene.
Dallas Fire-Rescue also responded and confirmed the woman had died.
Her identity has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The incident is being investigated under case number 060582-2025. Police have not released additional details about the circumstances of the death.
