Three Arrested in Multi-County Gas Station Robbery Spree in Ellis and Dallas Counties

Derek George-Michael Coy, Damijay Rashun Hubbard and Qymarion Lynn Bailey

The Ellis County Sheriff's Office teamed up with the Midlothian Police Department and the Duncanville Police Department to investigate and arrest three suspects causing havoc across two counties.

Following a string of aggravated robberies across Ellis and Dallas counties, authorities have successfully arrested three suspects responsible for targeting gas stations in Midlothian and Duncanville.

The investigation began on the evening of Monday, September 22, 2025, after an aggravated robbery occurred at a gas station just outside Midlothian city limits. Deputies from the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office quickly linked the suspects to a subsequent robbery at a Midlothian gas station on Thursday, September 25, and another at a Duncanville gas station the following day.

Through coordinated efforts among the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office, Midlothian Police Department, and Duncanville Police Department, investigators identified the three suspects. On Friday, September 26, Duncanville SWAT executed a search and arrest warrant, taking 38-year-old Derek George-Michael Coy into custody. Midlothian police later apprehended the remaining two suspects: 18-year-old Damijay Rashun Hubbard and 19-year-old Qymarion Lynn Bailey.

All three are now housed at the Wayne McCollum Detention Center in Waxahachie, Texas, with bond set at $525,000 for Coy, $250,000 for Hubbard, and $450,000 for Bailey. Authorities commended the interagency collaboration and investigative work that led to the swift resolution of the crime spree.
