DeSoto Police arrested two suspects Wednesday afternoon following a pursuit of a stolen vehicle that ended in a crash along Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway in Dallas.
At around 4:15 p.m., officers from DeSoto’s Bravo Shift located a red 2014 Toyota RAV4 reported stolen out of Dallas in the 1000 block of West Danieldale Road. When officers approached, the two occupants sped away eastbound at a high rate of speed.
The pursuit continued into Dallas, where the vehicle lost control and crashed in the 3900 block of LBJ Freeway. Officers quickly apprehended the driver, identified as 25-year-old Javier Ramirez of Dallas. The female passenger was also taken into custody on outstanding warrants.
No one was injured during the pursuit, and the stolen RAV4 was returned to its owner.
Police commended the teamwork of Bravo Shift officers for safely apprehending both suspects and reminded residents to stay alert and report suspicious activity.
