North Richland Hills Police have arrested four individuals in connection with the April 29, 2025, shooting that killed 17-year-old Alvin Ray Sweet and injured a female bystander in the 8400 block of Emerald Hills Way in North Richland Hills, TX.
Starting Saturday, May 10, and into the early morning of Sunday, May 11, North Richland Hills Detectives, with assistance from multiple agencies, arrested three adult males and one male juvenile believed to be involved in the fatal shooting. A fourth suspect, an additional adult male, was taken into custody on Monday, May 12.
Investigators determined that those responsible for the shooting were known to Sweet and that the motive behind the crime was drug-related.
The shooting resulted in Sweet's death and the aggravated assault of a female bystander struck by a stray bullet.
North Richland Hills Police acknowledged the assistance of the Fort Worth Police Department, Haltom City Police Department, Texas Office of the Attorney General, Texas Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the NETCAST SWAT Team.
