An 80-year-old Richardson man has been sentenced to 60 years in federal prison for the sexual abuse of a seven-year-old child, announced Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Chad E. Meacham.
George Kenneth Orton, Jr., of Richardson, was found guilty by a jury in October 2024 on two counts of sexual exploitation of a child. Evidence presented at trial revealed that agents recovered a USB drive and two laptops from Orton's home containing child sexual abuse material.
On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Orton appeared before District Judge Brantley Starr for sentencing. Judge Starr imposed consecutive maximum sentences of 360 months (30 years) on each count, totaling 720 months (60 years) in federal prison. Judge Starr described Orton’s conduct against the young victim as “unspeakable” and stated that he found no reason to deviate from the statutory maximum on each count, regardless of Orton's age.
FBI Dallas Special Agent in Charge R. Joseph Rothrock emphasized the commitment of law enforcement to protecting children, stating, “The FBI is proud to collaborate with our law enforcement partners every single day to ensure anyone involved in criminal behavior against a child is brought to justice. The significant sentence given to the defendant sends a clear message that crimes against children will not be tolerated.”
Acting U.S. Attorney Meacham commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Dallas Field Office and the Richardson Police Department for their work in the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Marissa Aulbaugh and Brandie Wade prosecuted the case.
