Waco Police Identify Homicide Victim, Continue Search for Suspect

UPDATE: 18-year-old Jarvis Howard Jr. was identified as the suspect in the homicide of Munoz.  He was arrested on Thursday, May 22nd.

The Waco Police Department has identified 30-year-old Jeromy Munoz as the man who died in the homicide that occurred on Thursday evening.

On May 15, 2025, at approximately 7:17 PM, Waco Police Officers responded to a reported shooting in the 1300 block of E. Waco Dr. Upon arrival, they discovered Munoz, who was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, a 24-year-old male, was transported by AMR to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition.

As of this time, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The Waco Police Department is actively seeking information about the suspect involved.

Anyone with information related to this homicide is urged to contact the Waco Police Department at 254-750-7500. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 254-753-HELP (4357). If a tip submitted to Crime Stoppers leads to an arrest in this case, the tipster could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.

This marks the fifth homicide investigation for the Waco Police Department in 2025. The investigation is ongoing, and no further information is being released at this time.
