First Annual Caregiver Resource Seminar at Grapevine Convention Center

Caring for an older family member, a person with disabilities or now find yourself raising your grandchildren?  Any of these can be fraught with challenges—physical, emotional, and financial.  To better meet their needs a coalition of social service providers and health plans are joining efforts to sponsor the First Annual Caregiver Resource Seminar.  The event will be held at the Grapevine Convention Center on Friday, September 15, 2017, from 8:30am to 4:00pm.  Pre-registration is required along with a $10 registration fee to cover the cost of lunch.

This seminar will provide information and support to those who care for older adults, persons of all ages with disabilities, and non-biological children under the age of 18.  Topics include guardianship, avoiding burnout, Special Needs Trusts, kinship legal issues, Living Wills, Medical Powers of Attorney and Transfer on Death Deeds.  In addition, participants will have the opportunity to participate in exercises that simulate age-related sensory and memory loss.

The Caregiver Resource Seminar is a project of the Aging and Disability Resource Centers of Tarrant County and North Central Texas.  It is made possible by funding from Cigna HealthSpring, Amerigroup, and Texas Health and Human Services.

Pre-registration is required. To register call (940) 202-4500, ext. 103, or email Registration@NTADS.net, and include event date, your name, email, and telephone number.
