Stancil West, 73, formerly of Burkburnett, passed away
Friday, August 8, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August
11, 2014 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Rev. Lamoin
Champ, officiating. Interment will follow at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery
under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett.
A son of the late Cornelius and Arie (Bolin) West, Stancil
was born on July 29, 1941 in Wichita Falls, Texas. In 1965, he married Carol in
Wichita Falls. He worked as a Barber for many years, and later, worked in
construction. His passion in life was fishing. He also loved horse racing and
playing pool.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his
wife, Carol West; his son, Craig; four brothers and five sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Lynda Stephens of Irving;
his grandson, Corey Stephens of Irving; two great-grandchildren, Jayden and
Lexi Stephens; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday,
August 10, 2014 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett.
