A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the homicide of a 75-year-old woman found dead at her home on February 13th.
Joshua Police Department, along with other law enforcement agencies, responded to a welfare check at a home in the 1200 block of County Road 904. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of Lana Mann Cornelsen, a woman who had previously resided in Hurst, TX. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and her death was ruled a homicide due to blunt force trauma.
An investigation quickly identified a suspect, who was later apprehended on February 15th. Cameron Isaiah Houston, 19, was taken into custody and remains in the Johnson County Jail on a $1.5 million bond. Online records indicate Houston either resided or had previously resided at the same address as Cornelsen. Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact relationship between the suspect and the victim, though online records suggest Houston may be Cornelsen's grandson.
The Joshua Police Department expressed their gratitude for the assistance of the Johnson County Stop the Offender Special Crimes Unit (STOP) and the Texas Rangers in the ongoing investigation.
