Irving Businessman and longtime community leader David Pfaff has filed for the May 2025 ballot for Irving City Council Place 2.
David Pfaff operated a successful family-owned business in Irving for over two decades and is known internationally for his ability to bring people together and foster innovation.
Pfaff was born and raised in Irving, attending Brandenburg Elementary, Travis Jr. High, and MacArthur High School. After high school, Pfaff attended Pomona College, where he earned his degree before obtaining his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. Pfaff and his wife, Sharon, settled in Irving 25 years ago and raised two children.
Passionate about education, Pfaff holds the title of Board Member Emeritus for his contributions to the Irving Schools Foundation.
Committed to non-profits and providing a hand-up to the community, Pfaff is also the Co-Founder of the Irving Kids Charity Golf Tournament, a supporter of the Irving Arts Center; Irving Cares; Baylor, Scott & White, Irving Foundation; and was appointed by the Irving City Council to the 2019 Citizens Bond Task Force.
Pfaff, the former Chairman of the Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce, has been described as a "champion" of business. Building upon his years of service and success, Pfaff is running for Irving City Council Place 2 to bring a business perspective to the dias and ensure that the citizens of Irving are getting the maximum out of every decision the city makes.
Pfaff has utilized technology to streamline processes and enhance efficiency and sees areas that the City of Irving can improve to ensure taxpayers' hard-earned dollars are effectively spent.
As the next Councilman, Pfaff will take his experience to City Hall to ask the tough questions during the budget process, engage with residents, and foster enhanced dialogue between the city and its residents to ensure the City Council is focused on the wants and needs of the citizens.
"Our roads and sidewalks need drastic improvements, which is my top priority," said Pfaff. "Our city must also focus on filling vacant first responder positions so that Irving citizens know their safety is the top priority and budget accordingly to avoid passing down tax increases to the citizens."
"Irving is more than just a city—it's home. I know from experience it's a place where families can shape their futures, businesses can thrive, and neighbors support one another," said Pfaff. "I know how hard our citizens work every day, and they have earned the right to have leaders who work just as hard for them."
