Bryan Ismar Guevara-Rubio, 27, was sentenced to 20 years in prison on February 19, 2025, after being found guilty of aggravated robbery.
The case, prosecuted by Krystal Biggins and Loren Collins, involved an incident on November 25, 2022. Guevara-Rubio and an accomplice ambushed a business owner as he arrived at his business, stealing $5,000 and his vehicle at gunpoint.
Two days later, Dallas Police officers located the stolen vehicle and initiated a high-speed chase, reaching speeds of 115 mph. Guevara-Rubio and his accomplice were apprehended with the assistance of Air One.
The Irving and Dallas Departments collaborated in the investigation of this case.
In addition to the robbery conviction, Guevara-Rubio faces a pending murder charge for the November 21, 2022, shooting death of 25-year-old Franklin Alexis Martinez-Fuentes. Martinez-Fuentes' body was found in the Mountain Creek area of Dallas. Guevara-Rubio was reindicted on the murder charge on October 8, 2024. Olvin Josue Cruz-Mejia, 20, is also facing murder charges in connection with Martinez-Fuentes’ death.
Guevara-Rubio is an undocumented immigrant.
