The Irving Police Explorer Post has earned top honors at the Houston Police Space City Explorer Competition, bringing home the 1st Place Trophy for their performance in the DWI scenario.
The competition, held on Saturday, March 29th, was hosted by the Houston Police Department and drew 200 teens from 19 law enforcement agencies across Texas. Teams participated in various scenarios, including crash investigations, bomb scene responses, and DWI simulations. Ellis County took the Overall Winner title.

The Explorers program is a youth initiative for individuals aged 14 to 21 who have an interest in exploring law enforcement careers. The program provides valuable career orientation experiences, leadership opportunities, and community service activities. Participants receive training in a wide range of law enforcement procedures, including accident investigation, traffic stops, crime scene searches, drug warrant arrests, domestic violence intervention, hostage negotiations, burglary in progress calls, and more.
