Johnny Juwan Clark, 32, of Houston, Texas, pleaded guilty on April 22, 2025, to interference with commerce by robbery for his role in the "jugging" robbery of an ATM technician in Midlothian, Texas, on July 3, 2024. Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Chad E. Meacham announced the plea.
Clark admitted that he was part of the "Hiram Clarke Money Team" (HCMT), a Houston-based criminal organization known for traveling outside the city to commit "jugging" robberies, where victims are followed after withdrawing or servicing cash at ATMs or banks and then robbed.
According to his plea, Clark approached an ATM technician servicing a Chase Bank ATM in Midlothian, forced him to the ground while disguised, and allowed codefendants to remove approximately $247,000 in U.S. currency from the machine. Clark was identified as the individual holding the technician down in security footage. Following the robbery, Clark and two other suspects fled in a rental car and met a fourth accomplice to transfer the stolen money into a Range Rover for transport back to Houston.
Clark's sentencing is scheduled for July 28, 2025, and he faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Another codefendant, Tierra Toneisha Brandyberg, intends to plead guilty, while Corey Dashun Holloway and Roosevelt Ford Valentine are set for jury trial in September 2025. The FBI (Dallas Division) investigated the case.
