At approximately 9:05 a.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025, The Colony Fire Department was dispatched to the 5500 block of Mountain Valley Drive after a resident reported possibly creating a nerve agent while attempting to make a homemade pesticide.
Upon arrival, fire crews made contact with a male individual outside the residence. He was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment of possible chemical-related injuries.
Units from the Irving Fire Department, Grand Prairie Fire Department, and the FBI responded to assist at the scene. Hazardous Materials teams from Grand Prairie and Irving entered the home and determined that the substance was non-hazardous.
The shelter-in-place order issued for the area has been lifted. The on-site investigation remains ongoing.
