Early this morning, Monday, April 28, 2025, Irving Police officers and the SWAT team responded to a barricaded person situation in the 3400 block of W. Rochelle Road, near N. Belt Line Road.
Irving Police issued a social media alert around 6:30 a.m., requesting residents to avoid the area and refrain from sharing photos or videos of officers for safety reasons.
By 7:00 a.m., the Irving Police Department announced that the suspect had been safely taken into custody.
According to a later update from the Irving Police Department, dispatch received a call at approximately 4:35 a.m. regarding a domestic dispute in the 3400 block of Rochelle Road. The report indicated that the suspect was armed with a firearm and threatening to harm himself and others inside the residence. Initial officers established a perimeter, and the tactical unit responded, successfully taking the suspect into custody.
The suspect has been identified as 44-year-old Hellmuth Emilio Klein. He is being charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Further investigation revealed that he was wanted out of Dallas for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Sex Abuse of a Child and Indecency with a Child. The victims in those cases was under 14 years of age and the warrants date back to 2020. Klein is a Guatemalan national.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
