Irving Police responded to a mental health crisis involving reports of shots fired at a residence in the 700 block of Bunn Dr., near Barton Elementary School, on Tuesday evening, April 29th.
Officers safely removed the reporting party, the suspect's wife, who was inside the home. A perimeter was established, and negotiators engaged with the barricaded individual. The SWAT team also responded to the scene.
The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Jeffrey Cornish, was eventually taken into custody without incident and safely. No injuries were reported.
Cornish is charged with Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
