Michael Evan Scott, a 40-year-old high-risk sex offender listed on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender list, was arrested by Irving Police on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, for failing to comply with court-ordered sex offender registration requirements.
Scott, of Irving, was booked into the Irving Jail at 1:29 PM after an officer initiated a traffic stop due to a broken license plate light. During the stop, Scott presented an invalid/suspended driver's license. Further investigation through the NCIC system revealed he was wanted in Grand Prairie and Dalworthington Gardens for traffic violations.
Most significantly, Scott was wanted in Tarrant County for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements, and in Dallas County for the same offense, as well as a parole violation related to an Indecency with a Child conviction.
According to the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry, Scott was convicted on three counts of Indecency with a Child by Exposure on February 16, 2016, and is required to register annually as a sex offender for life.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), on their wanted page for Scott, had stated that Scott had ties to Dallas and Tarrant Counties, including Irving and Arlington. His criminal history includes three counts of Aggravated Robbery in 2005, and additional convictions for Indecency with a Child by Exposure in 2016 and 2022. Warrants for his arrest for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements were issued out of Dallas County on January 11, 2024, and Tarrant County on April 25, 2024. A Dallas County warrant for probation violation (original offense: Indecency with a Child by Exposure) was also issued on January 31, 2024.
