Around 5:00 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025, Bedford Police responded to an attempted vehicle theft in the area of Stonegate Drive and Bedford Road.
The victim reported that two suspects tried to steal their GMC truck from their driveway approximately 30 minutes earlier. Surveillance footage showed one suspect armed with a rifle, appearing to act as a lookout while the other attempted to steal the vehicle.
When the suspects failed to start the truck, they fled the scene in a white Infiniti Q50 bearing a fraudulent Texas “Authorized Agent” paper tag.
Detectives with the Bedford Police Department are continuing to investigate the incident and work to identify the suspects. Authorities believe this attempted theft is part of a wider pattern targeting GMC trucks across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Bedford Police are urging GMC truck owners to consider installing hidden ignition cutoff switches as a preventative measure.
