DeSoto police are actively investigating a shooting that injured a 16-year-old female late Saturday night, June 8, 2025, in the 500 block of Edmonds Way. The incident occurred shortly after a large party in the area was dispersed by authorities.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting with injuries. They located the victim in the front yard of a residence on Edmonds Way. Investigation revealed that the victim had just left a large party in the 500 block of Buckingham Place, which police had previously dispersed.
According to reports, the victim was standing with several other teens in front of the Buckingham Place home when an unknown perpetrator approached the group on foot and fired multiple gunshots, striking the 16-year-old twice. The suspect possibly fled the scene in a dark sedan. The victim managed to flee the area before being found by officers on Edmonds Way. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
DeSoto Detectives are actively investigating the incident and are seeking information regarding the suspect and vehicle involved. Additionally, DeSoto Police are requesting residents in the area near the 500 block of Buckingham Place to review their security camera footage for any potential evidence.
