Garland Gang Member Sentenced to 10 Years for Bus Stop Shooting Captured on Social Media

Javier Martel Estes has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after a Dallas County jury found him guilty of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon in connection to a 2024 shooting that injured a man at a bus stop.

On February 14, 2024, the 23-year-old victim, who had recently moved to Garland from Kansas City, was standing at a bus stop near Jupiter Road and McCree Road when Estes, then 17, drove by in a vehicle with several associates. Estes, a documented member of the street gang KTK (Konfirmed to Kill), was live-streaming on social media while pointing a .40 caliber handgun at the camera.

As the car passed the victim, Estes aimed the weapon out the window and shot the man several times at close range, still recording. The victim survived after a Dallas police officer arrived within a minute and applied tourniquets to stop the bleeding.

Following the shooting, Estes referred to himself as “Lil Bus Stop” in online posts and made comments referencing the attack. He was arrested days later during a traffic stop, where officers found a .40 caliber handgun on him. Ballistics testing confirmed the weapon matched the shell casings found at the scene.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Sarah Hayes and Loren Collins. DA Investigators John Schingle and JD Williams supported the prosecution. The Dallas Police Department led the investigation.

Estes, now 18, was found guilty on June 11, 2025. Though eligible for probation, the jury opted to sentence him to 10 years in prison.
