Last week, the Irving Police Department joined staff at Via Reál Restaurant to celebrate the awarding of five college scholarships to children of Irving Police Officers. The scholarships were presented through the Pat Mathers Scholarship Foundation, established in memory of Pat Mathers by Via Reál owner Fran Lively Mathers.
This year’s recipients include:
-
Aiden Shepard, an Electrical Engineering student at Texas A&M University
-
Carissa Timpf
-
Kathryn Davis
-
Carys Sherer, a freshman at the University of North Texas
-

The scholarships recognize students who demonstrate academic excellence, community involvement, and strong ambitions to succeed.
Founded in 2004, the Pat Mathers Scholarship Foundation has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships annually to support the educational pursuits of the children of Irving Police Officers.
