Couple Returns Carrollton Home After Stealing Over $150K from Elderly Man; Only Gets Probation

Lori and Brian Price

DALLAS, Texas — The case involving Lori Angel Price, 42, and Brian Timothy Price, 48, who took over an elderly man’s home and stole more than $150,000, has concluded with a plea agreement.

The married couple was allowed to stay at the 80-year-old man’s residence on Wintergreen Road after requesting a place to stay for a few days. Instead, they refused to leave, took his bank card, added themselves to his accounts, and applied for loans using his credit. The couple eventually barred the man from entering his own home.

On April 7, 2025, the elderly victim called 911 after Brian Price attempted to kick in the front door. Brian was arrested on April 19 for injuring the man’s wrist while trying to keep him out.

Authorities found the couple had manipulated the illiterate victim into signing a deed transferring the home to them for $100, unaware he was signing away ownership of the house he had lived in for over 30 years.

Under a plea agreement, the defendants signed a deed returning the home to the rightful owner and were placed on probation for two years. The charge of injury to an elderly person was dismissed by the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office.

The couple has a history of over seven evictions on file. The Carrollton Police Department investigated the case, with prosecution led by Alicia Patterson and victim advocacy provided by Franchesca Zarate.
