DALLAS, TX – A Dallas County jury has convicted Alberto Villa-Alvardo, 45, of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, sentencing him to 15 years in prison. The verdict was reached in a case involving a 24-year delayed outcry from the victim.
Villa-Alvardo was indicted in August 2023 and has been jailed since then, receiving 765 days of jail credit toward his sentence. The jury found him guilty of an aggravated sexual abuse act against a child under 14.
After the guilty verdict was returned, the defendant’s attorney, Jeremy Hobbs, filed a motion to be removed as counsel and not continue with the appeal process. The court appointed a new attorney to handle the appeal. The case was investigated by the Dallas Police Department.
