COLLIN COUNTY, TX – Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis announced today that 58-year-old Victor Cornejo of Plano has been sentenced to 50 years in prison with no possibility of parole for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child.
The abuse occurred over several months between 2022 and 2023. The 13-year-old victim, who knew Cornejo, out-cried to a therapist in 2023, which led to an investigation by the Plano Police Department.
During a forensic interview, the child provided a detailed account of the repeated abuse. Judge Kim Laseter found Cornejo guilty and imposed the 50-year sentence. Under Texas law, this offense carries a mandatory sentence without eligibility for parole.
"This sentence ensures that this predator will spend the rest of his life behind bars—exactly where he belongs," said District Attorney Greg Willis. "He robbed a child of safety and trust, and justice demands that he never have the chance to harm another."
The case was prosecuted by Assistant Criminal District Attorneys Nicole Minwell and Abbie Adkins. They were assisted by District Attorney Investigators Greg Bowers and Stephanie Strickland, and Victim Assistance Coordinator Melissa White.
