FIFA has officially launched the application process for the FIFA World Cup 26™ Volunteer Program, aiming to recruit approximately 65,000 volunteers across 16 host cities in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The initiative will be the largest volunteer program in FIFA history, supporting the first-ever 48-team World Cup over a six-week tournament beginning June 11, 2026, in Mexico City.
Volunteers will assist in 23 functional areas at official and non-official sites, including stadiums, training venues, airports, and hotels. The program is part of the FIFA Volunteer Community, which surpassed one million members earlier this year.
“Volunteers are the heart, soul and smile of FIFA tournaments,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “They get to show off their local pride, gain a behind-the-scenes view of the tournament and make memories and friendships that can last a lifetime.”
Applicants must be at least 18 years old by the time of application, eligible to volunteer in the host country, and have a good command of English. In Mexico, both English and Spanish are desirable; in Canada, French is considered an asset. Proficiency in additional languages is encouraged.
No prior volunteering experience is required, and FIFA welcomes applicants from all backgrounds. Volunteer Team Tryouts are set to begin in October 2025, with training scheduled for March 2026.
