IRVING, Texas—A man wanted for murder in Maryland has been arrested in Irving after police received a tip on Monday afternoon.
Irving Police officers located and arrested Luis Antonio Quintanilla, 39, without incident at an Irving home. He was wanted for the shooting death of his partner, Maritza Ferman Sorto, 35, in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
On Sunday, August 31, at approximately 2:42 a.m., Montgomery County police and fire rescue responded to the home that Quintanilla and Sorto shared, where they found Sorto wounded. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Quintanilla was booked into the Irving Jail with four warrants: Murder, 1st-degree Aggravated Assault, 2nd-degree Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime. He will be extradited to Maryland to face the charges.
