Tarrant County Man Sentenced to 35 Years for Assaulting Fort Worth Officer

Sebastian Munoz

FORT WORTH, TX – A Tarrant County jury has convicted 45-year-old Sebastian Munoz of assaulting a peace officer and sentenced him to 35 years in prison.

The case stems from an incident on November 27, 2024, when Fort Worth police received multiple 911 calls reporting a man breaking into cars, damaging property, and attempting to kick in doors in the Meadowbrook area near East Lancaster Avenue.

Officers responding to the scene located Munoz at the fifth reported location. When they attempted to place him under arrest, Munoz violently resisted, kicking, biting, and wrestling with officers as they tried to apply handcuffs.

After a jury trial, Munoz was found guilty and given a lengthy sentence due to his actions and criminal history. Prosecutors Idris Akinpelu and Marvin Morris led the case for the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office.
