On Tuesday, August 27, 2025, at approximately 4:15 p.m., officers from the Irving Police Department Fugitive Unit conducted surveillance at an apartment complex located at 4520 Ambassador Way in Balch Springs, TX, targeting 22-year-old Damaija Robinson, wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Irving.
Officer Kevin Goodman observed Robinson enter a black 2025 Hyundai Elantra and sit in the driver’s seat. Officers initiated a vehicle containment. As Officer Goodman approached, Robinson struck the front left quarter panel of the police vehicle with his car, continued through the containment, and also struck Officer Alan Lotspeich’s surveillance vehicle.
Robinson attempted to escape by swerving around Officer Jonathan Towns’ vehicle near the exit gate but was ultimately blocked by an uninvolved parked car.
Robinson was taken into custody and charged with:

Evading Arrest or Detention in a Vehicle

Probation Violation (he had a previous evading conviction and was on probation)
His bond was set at $475,000, and he remains in custody pending an Electronic Monitoring Device (ELM).
