North Richland Hills police confirmed that three 18-year-old men are in custody in connection with the deadly shooting that happened in the early hours of Sunday, September 7, outside Malibu Jack’s off Airport Freeway.

Investigators believe the violence stemmed from an altercation between several people before shots were fired. A 21-year-old woman from Dallas was killed at the scene. Her identity will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. A 23-year-old Dallas man was also shot but survived and is now in stable condition at the hospital.

Detectives have recovered what they believe to be the murder weapon.

Two North Richland Hills officers working off-duty security responded immediately when gunfire erupted. One officer returned fire, while the other officer applied a tourniquet that helped save the male victim’s life before paramedics arrived.

Police say the names and booking photos of the three suspects will not be released until they appear before a judge.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, but police emphasize there is no ongoing threat to the community.
