FORT WORTH, Texas—Wistron, a major global electronics manufacturer, has announced plans to establish two AI supercomputing facilities at AllianceTexas in Fort Worth. This significant investment of $761 million is set to create over 800 full-time jobs and positions Fort Worth as a key hub for advanced technology manufacturing and the reshoring movement.
The new facilities will be located within Hillwood's 27,000-acre master-planned development in North Fort Worth. One site, at 14601 Mobility Way, will involve renovations to a 766,994-square-foot building with an investment exceeding $181 million. The primary site, at 15200 Heritage Parkway, will see renovations to a 324,598-square-foot building, with over $580 million allocated for land acquisition, factory purchase, real property improvements, and business personal property. Both sites are slated to be operational by early 2026.
Jackie Lai, senior vice president of global manufacturing for American and European operations for Wistron, stated that Fort Worth was chosen after a thorough evaluation of talent availability, robust logistics infrastructure, and a vibrant industrial ecosystem, making it the optimal location to meet customer needs and advance their global vision for AI-related product capabilities.
This move is being hailed by local leaders as a transformative moment for Fort Worth and North Texas.
Local Leaders React to Wistron's Investment
Mayor Mattie Parker expressed excitement, stating, "It’s Go-Time in Fort Worth, and this investment from Wistron, which will create significant job growth and economic impact in our city, is just more proof." She highlighted Fort Worth's existing strengths in aviation, energy, and logistics, and its new positioning to lead in AI and advanced manufacturing.
Robert Allen, president and CEO of the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership, called it an "amazing moment for the booming Fort Worth economy," emphasizing that the company considered sites nationwide before choosing Fort Worth. He believes these new locations will not only create jobs but also establish Fort Worth as a leader in AI and the future of manufacturing.
Judge Andy Eads of Denton County recognized the project as a "pivotal milestone," strengthening the region's role in the semiconductor supply chain and bringing "tremendous economic opportunity."
Ross Perot Jr., chairman of Hillwood and The Perot Companies, welcomed Wistron to what is becoming North Texas’s "next-generation manufacturing and data-services corridor." He noted the opportune timing of Wistron's decision amidst the reshoring movement and expressed confidence in the skilled workforce and strong support from public and private partners.
Trey Fricke, commercial real estate managing principal for Lee & Associates, described the investment as an "important moment in the industry," with Wistron establishing operations in what is considered a "gold standard" industrial park.
