IRVING, TX – After two years of work, motorists can now drive the newly completed Conflans Road extension connecting Valley View Lane to State Highway 161. City leaders held a ribbon-cutting ceremony in late August to mark the project’s public opening.

12-foot pedestrian path on the south side
-
New water, wastewater, and storm sewer infrastructure
-
Oncor transmission lines raised 40 feet

The nearly $43 million project, funded by city and federal sources, required extensive coordination with multiple agencies, including:
-
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
-
Texas Department of Transportation
-
Dallas County Flood Control District No. 1
-
Oncor Electric Delivery Co.
-
ERCOT
-

A Key Milestone
The extension represents the final and most complex section of Conflans Road identified in the city’s Master Thoroughfare Plan. The project not only improves east-west mobility but also enhances flood protection and pedestrian connectivity in the area.
