MESQUITE, TX – The Mesquite Police Department has arrested a 22-year-old father in connection with the death of his infant child.
On September 18, 2025, at approximately 5:05 p.m., officers responded to an assist-fire call in the 5800 block of Northwest Drive. They were informed that a small child was unconscious and not breathing. Officers located the infant in medical distress and immediately began life-saving measures until Mesquite Fire Department personnel arrived to continue treatment.
The child was transported to a local hospital, where medical staff discovered multiple injuries. An investigation was launched to determine the cause.
Tragically, on September 23, 2025, investigators were notified that the infant had died as a result of those injuries. After a thorough investigation, detectives gathered enough evidence to arrest the child’s biological father, Jordan Greer, and charge him with Capital Murder.
Greer’s bond was set at $150,000 on a separate charge of Injury to a Child with Intent to Cause Serious Bodily Injury, but he is being held without bond on the Murder charge.
Police say the investigation remains active and ongoing.
