Irving Officer Injured in Motorcycle Collision While Assisting Ambulance

IRVING, TX — On Tuesday afternoon, October 14, an Irving Police Department motorcycle officer was injured in a collision while assisting an Irving Fire Department ambulance on an emergency run to Medical City Las Colinas.

The incident occurred at the intersection of N. MacArthur Blvd and Highway 161. Preliminary reports indicate the officer, who was helping clear traffic, drifted into the left turn lane where the ambulance was traveling, resulting in the collision.

The officer was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained scrapes and bruises. He was treated on scene and later transported to a local hospital as a precaution. Authorities confirm his injuries are non-life-threatening, and he is expected to recover.

The Irving Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
