TARRANT COUNTY, Texas—Pedro Magdaleno, 37, pleaded guilty on Monday, October 27th, to two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and was sentenced to 25 years in state prison.
The case against Magdaleno began in 2022 when an 11-year-old girl told her teacher at an Arlington ISD school that a relative had sexually assaulted her multiple times, beginning when the victim was in Pre-K. Magdaleno was subsequently identified as the abuser.
The Tarrant County District Attorney's Office secured the guilty plea and sentence, crediting the Arlington Police Department for their thorough investigation. Detective Haley Thedford of the Child Abuse Unit (CACU) was specifically thanked for heading the case.
Prosecutors for the case were James Zaleta and Sierra Woodard.
