On Monday, November 3, 2025, at approximately 9:40 p.m., the Keller Police Department, Southlake Fire Department, and Southlake Police Department responded to a traffic collision involving a pedestrian in the westbound lanes of State Highway 114, near Davis Boulevard in Westlake.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male pedestrian deceased in the roadway. The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Clayton Deshonn Word.
Preliminary information from the North Texas Regional Crash Team indicates that vehicles were traveling westbound on SH114 just past Davis Boulevard when Word walked across the roadway for an unknown reason and was struck by a vehicle. The driver remained on scene and cooperated fully with investigators.
Authorities do not currently believe that drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision.
